How we publish

Editorial policy

Sources, limitations and corrections belong beside the answer—not hidden behind a confident headline.

Scope and contribution

We publish photo-backup and file-care guidance when it helps a reader make a specific decision or check an observable result. A new page should add a distinct method, usable tool, worked case or important clarification. Search popularity alone is not a reason to publish.

Sources and dates

Provider-specific behavior links to the provider’s documentation. Source-check dates mean the linked information was reviewed, not that every device or account was tested. Menus, service limits and export behavior may change. We do not refresh dates merely to look recent.

AI assistance and author identity

AI assists prose and implementation. We do not present generated narratives as personal experience or give an invented expert a byline. KYD is a publishing identity, not a credential. Synthetic tests and hypothetical examples are explicitly labeled. Reproducible code checks do not replace human judgment before deletion.

Images

Third-party photographs carry a source, credit and license. The homepage photograph is illustrative, not a screen capture of backup status or KYD’s own photo. Original diagrams explain relationships; neither photographs nor diagrams are used as proof of a successful recovery.

Corrections and review

Report a precise error through the public issue route, without personal data. A report is evidence to assess, not an automatic endorsement. Material changes should update the affected explanation, relevant tests and the change record. We do not promise a response deadline.

Commercial independence

There are currently no affiliate links or sponsored rankings in this focused library. Advertising, if activated later, must be distinguished from navigation and tools. No advertiser can turn a failed test or an unknown backup state into a recommendation to delete files.
